The City of Blakely is a member of the MEAG Power System. We are proactive in providing our customers with the most modern and up-to-date power delivery in the state. Among our many services, we utilize electronic metering, maintain our right-of-ways, and provide a pole change-out policy while continuously upgrading our systems.
An inspection of location must be completed prior to application and making a deposit. New electrical and utility hookups must be approved for any required permits or tap fees by the building inspector. Please email Building Official, Mark Hawkins, or call 229-723-3414 for more information.

To connect utility services, you must:
- Contact Building Official to inspect location prior to completing application and deposit
- Provide valid photo identification
- Social Security card
- Proof of property ownership or rental agreement

For billing inquiries, contact our customer service representatives at 229-723-3677 or click to email. For after hours electricity restoration due to non-payment, contact the Fire Department at 229-723-3511. You will be required to pay all fees at the time of service.
To report an electrical outage Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, call City Hall at 229-723-3677. After hours, call the Blakely Fire Department at 229-723-3511.
Winter rates go into effect December 1 and summer rates go into effect June 1.
